Setting – and achieving – Great Goals

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” – Anne Frank

One month down, 11 to go! How are your 2024 goals progressing?  Are you as passionate as ever about them, or are you frustrated?

My colleagues and I recently discussed the challenges of initiating or re-establishing new habits to achieve new goals and improve. Even when we are aware of the benefits new habits bring, procrastination often prevents us from taking the first step. Research indicates that procrastination isn’t just about avoidance, it’s also driven by the fear of failure, which can be rooted in poor planning. We reviewed some SMART goal-setting strategies, which may be familiar to you, but they’re worth sharing.

  • Be Specific about your objectives.
  • Set Measurable criteria.
  • Make it A
  • Ensure it is Relevant to the overall objective.
  • Set a Time-Bound deadline to create urgency.

A clear roadmap will help you take the necessary steps to reach your goals. Consider abandoning vague intentions, such as “exercising more” and opt for a specific plan, such as strength training for 30 minutes twice a week. It’s not too late to restart, reset, and try again. You got this!

At nFusion, we are moving full steam ahead on our 2024 goals for our entire company and each team, all leading us forward together on the same path of progress.
